Fresh White and Blue Summer Style, Look 4 is casual summer style with just a touch of flair. I don’t know about where you are, but it has been extremely hot across the U.S. over the last few weeks. In the upper Midwest, we’ve been enjoying 90-degrees and up, along with several summer storms to go with the heat. When it’s this hot, denim jeans are the last thing you want to wear; but jeans are also a staple of casual summer style. I was surprised to find that these Zara jeans, which I picked up on sale a few weeks ago, are both lightweight and super breathable. They are the perfect summer jeans for a reason. According to this GQ article, the standard denim weight, or how much it weighs per square yard, is 14 ounces; however, denim can be mixed with other materials to create a fabric geared to certain seasons (and, of course, price points and fit). These days, there are a wide variety of denim weights for manufacturers to choose from. For the fashion-conscious INTJ, the key to wearing jeans in the summer is lightweight denim.
While I don’t know the fabric weight of the denim that makes up these jeans, I do know that it is 96% cotton, 3% elastomultiester and 1% elastane. Both the elastomultiester and elastane work to give the cotton some stretch and also to help it to keep its shape. To create a great summer denim, manufacturers use lower weight denim. The big holes at the knee probably help too. Besides all the talk of fabric weight and materials, these jeans are on trend with pearl details. The balloon sleeve top with university stripe pattern and white double cuffs are also very trend conscious. Pair this jean with a neutral top in white, blue, or a mix of the two, then add a brightly-colored shoe for the perfect summer fun outfit. Oh, and don’t forget to iron your shirt. 😀
