INTJ Fall Fashion- Goodbye Summer

Back with another INTJ fall fashion look. At this point, there are only a few days left before the official end to summer. I’ve already read a few posts bemoaning the season’s passing. Like most introverts, however, I’m looking forward to fall.  The weather is not so hot. The leaves change colors. Soon, there will be hot cocoa and the tranquility of snow.  Even so, it is important to say goodbye to summer, not mournfully, but with gratitude for all the good things summer represents. While summer may not be my favorite season, there are many things that I will miss – like no heavy coats, beautiful flowers everywhere, tropical drinks. In terms of fashion, this outfit is may be typical, but that’s okay. It’s a cheerful goodbye to the bright, happy colors of summer – it one last hurrah, if you will. So goodbye, Summer 2017. You were a doozy.

You’ll have to forgive me for the spotty posts over the past few weeks of summer. My school assigned summer homework, we temporarily relocated to Iowa of all places, and I spent the rest of the time working hard to get all of the fashion shoots done for the year. Summer seemed to fly by. Before I realized it, it was time to start packing for school, and I was nowhere near ready. If you follow us on Instagram, you may know that my return to Hong Kong wasn’t as smooth as I hoped it would be, with plane delays and other problems. Thankfully, I’m now safely back in Hong Kong and ready to take on school, but, before classes start, I do want to reflect on aspects of this past summer that a cheerful goodbye does not show.

For many, this summer has been bittersweet with fires on the west coast, two major Hurricanes in the U.S., the Charlottesville riots, tensions with North Korea, as well as other global tensions. When I wasn’t working, I found myself glued to the cable news stations, which, frankly, took away from some of the summer fun as I felt I needed to be constantly aware of what was happening. It may have been summer, but it was a stressful summer from that perspective. Regardless of the stresses, it was nice to be home with my family after my first time living abroad. This summer, I came to truly believe that it’s the simple things in life that make you happiest.  I didn’t get everything I wanted to get done this summer, but I have practiced the August INTJ challenge — watching out for negative self-talk, and taking time to reset.

All in all, it was a great summer. I was able to close out my time back in the states by celebrating my birthday before heading back to Hong Kong. If you’d like to share, I would love to read about any fun memories you had this past summer.

Now, I’m going to say what all my introvert readers are thinking: Bring on the fall!
