Time for another bring on the drama, all-black October fashion look. As we talked about in our last all-black outfit, texture is one way to make a black on black outfit more visually interesting. But, if texture isn’t your thing, use shape. Strong silhouettes can create great visual interest, so giving structure to your all-black fashion can provide the type of drama that can’t be achieved when adding other colors. In this outfit, both the voluminous sleeves on the shirt and the flare in the pants highlight a bell shape. These shapes complement each other, naturally drawing the eye down. Wearing a strong silhouette in monochrome can be just as bold as wearing something bright and wacky, perhaps, even stronger. Of all the colors on the visual spectrum, it is black that most emotes a feeling of power and strength. Or maybe that’s just the black talking.
