As mentioned in my nail art post, it’s my birthday month! So, in my honor, I’m sharing a throwback look to something I wore out (alternate universe) on a previous birthday. By the way, Happy Birthday to all the September INTJ babies out there! I like having a September birthday, but September is a busy month. A lot of people are going back to school. There are Labor Day sales.  Football Season. Winter is just around the corner. Plus, I know at least six other people with September birthdays. For me, it’s an expensive month. Not to mention that, as you get older, birthdays can also be a little depressing. There are no more themed parties with cake. Sometimes, it’s rough even getting a group of friends together to celebrate. As an introvert, I don’t mind so much, but I do think it’s important to do what makes you happy on your special day. Even if you have to work, or go to school, try to do something  for yourself to make the day stand out. INTJs can often feel sad or lonely on a birthday because, even if they want to spend time alone to recharge, they think they’re supposed to celebrate with lots of friends. So many of my friends are now scattered all around the country, so I like to do TLC related activities. As an INTJ, I can sometimes get so focused on work that I don’t take time out for myself. A birthday is a perfect time for that bubble bath, mani/pedi, and all the other self-care things we put off when we have busy lives.

Another thing I do every birthday is dress up, even if I’m staying in to celebrate my birthday. For me, dressing up, even for home celebrations, makes me feel like my birthday is an occasion and not just another day. I’ve made it through another year.  I’m older and, hopefully, wiser. The outfit featured today has several special memories attached. For one, I got the shirt on sale from Express a few years back. The skirt I’ve worn for many special occasions, including for an upcoming October outfit. The shoes are extra special, as I got them from the original Chanel store during a family trip to Paris.  Because they were so expensive, I only pull them out for really special occasions, like my birthday. INTJs may be frugal, but they also like to invest in quality pieces. Hopefully these shoes can become family heirlooms—or not. In any event, because I’m more of a frugal fashionista, they make me feel special on my special day.
