Now that summer is coming to an end, the wedding season is also winding down. However, love was in the air this past summer as two of my friends got engaged, and I attended the wedding of a family friend. I’ve been to a couple of weddings, but I still wanted to refresh my memory as to proper wedding etiquette before attending. As an INTJ, it can be difficult to find the right look for a wedding. We tend to gravitate toward darker colors. When considering an outfit for the wedding, I first thought about wearing black. Black is classic, right? Yeah, but it’s a no-no at a wedding, unless of course you’re trying to send the happy couple a grim message. In the end, I went with what I call my striped bliss dress. This dress has become my go-to wedding guest dress as I’ve worn it to two weddings already.
Why it Works
This is a great summer dress, and since most weddings happen in the summer, this dress fits the mood. It’s open enough that you won’t burn up in cramped wedding halls or summer heat. It’s also a neutral, not too dark and not too attention grabbing bright. The stripes add some interest so you don’t look like a dowdy plain Jane. Just because you aren’t the one getting married doesn’t mean you shouldn’t look nice. Chances are you’ll be in some pictures too. I really appreciated having the guide, so much so, that maybe next year, I’ll put together my own guide of INTJ wedding guest looks.
