In Minnesota, the spring season doesn’t seem all that different from winter.  Here, it’s still 24 degrees, and we spent the weekend watching drifting flakes of snow accumulate up to 4-inches. March serves up schizophrenic days that swerve from barren cold to warm and balmy and then back again.  That’s why our looks go toward darkness, at a time when everyone else talks of spring light. In locales that have four seasons, the march toward spring is a tempest, a merging that moves from one into the other and back again. March is all about the transition, and so, too, is our fashion.

So, on this journey of transition, today’s look is the hope of spring to come. Metaphorically speaking, blooms peek out of the oppressive winter dark. In a more physical sense, the pairing of sheers and laces with long, covered layers allows you to capture any hints of warmth from a brisk, but sunny day. Check back on Thursday to see how we reuse the rose shirt in a punk look.
