Who says shorts can’t be sophisticated? The trick is to skip the t-shirt and tennies. Instead, dress up even your wackiest shorts with a light knit top or blouse. This look, which I’m calling sand and stripes, keeps it simple and monochromatic with this knitted, flared sleeve top. The shorts are classic, black with white stripes, almost nautical in appearance. And while black or white tennis shoes would work fine with this group of neutrals, the silver sandals are an unexpected pop, giving the mundane a fresh and quirky update.
