Introvert Life – WorkOut Style, 2017 Fitness Looks

Any New Year’s resolution-ers in the house? Well, it’s a little cliché, but it’s no lie that working out and health become a big deal in January. We workout to work off all those Christmas cookies – or, in my case, cheesecake. So this month, along with our cozy couture looks, we will also be presenting our 4 introvert life workout styles and fitness looks for your 2017 athleisure needs. For most of my life, I have been an athlete. I ran my first race at the age of five. I came in last because I saw my parents in the stands and slowed down to wave at them.  I played soccer throughout my elementary years, and into high school. In college, I played Quidditch— a very tough sport. I remember the days when activewear fashion was more about shoe styles than clothing. Several years ago, when activewear made the  jump from the gym to fashion street, the category’s success was surprising to everyone. That’s no longer the case. Puma’s 2015 fourth quarter sales rose 11.5 % thanks to their collaboration with celebrity, Rihanna, whose fashion-inspired vision helped them to make inroads in the women’s market. Pure fashion brands rapidly followed. Athleisure is no longer an afterthought, as it has proven to be a high growth business for brands.  In 2015, the U.S. activewear market rang in an estimated $44 billion in sales. This nothing-but-net profitability even has online retailer, Amazon, getting active, with the behemoth planning to add its own private label brand to the list of offerings from others such as Lululemon ($1.79 billion), Nike ($30 billion), and Under Amour ($3.96 billion). For active fashionistas like myself, this could mean a wider range of styles with lower prices tags. Who wins in the hyper-competitive market? Hopefully consumers. We are the champions, so bring on the sweat!

Oh for fashion’s sake:
