Introvert Life – Christmas Fashion Look 2

Welcome to the second of our Christmas Fashion looks. This dress style is perfect for a Christmas Eve Candlelight Service at church, or a family get together. I’ve had this dress for a couple of years, and it fits for many different functions. You could even wear it to the symphony, or a theater performance. When I got the dress, I thought I was buying it on sale. Shortly after the Christmas season passed, I found this same dress on Amazon, for 90% off of what I paid for it. I tried to find the link for this article, but it must have finally sold out. In any event, after that experience, I vowed to be a more careful shopper, and to not give in to the pressure of having to buy something new just because it’s the holiday season.

One of the things that bothers me about the holidays is this expectation that we are supposed to go to parties all the time. The idea seems to be that if we aren’t out in the world, then we aren’t living.  Further, because it is the holiday season, we are to go out and about in sparkling, glamorous fashions. Yet, there are so many ways to celebrate the season. Rather than flitting from party to party in one fancy outfit after another, I prefer to spend the holidays dressed in comfy PJs or, cozy couture style, and just enjoy quiet moments listening to holiday music, sipping hot chocolate, and working on my the annual family Christmas puzzle. Of course, from time to time, there are events that require I dress up in one of the holiday fashion styles that I’ll be sharing, but such events aren’t always a big part of my seasonal focus. So, despite the expectation that the holidays are about getting dressed up in fancy clothes and going out, the season is truly about so much more: introspection, reflection, and, most importantly, connection.

I hope you enjoy the holiday fashions we’re featuring this month, but beyond the pretty dresses and the makeup, it’s important to remember that treasuring the connections in your life is what is most important. As for the fashion, even if you don’t have holiday plans, nothing is stopping you from wearing the most beautiful dress that you have for a  party in your own house, or even in your own room.

Happy Holidays!
