Back-to-College 2016

Back-to-school look 2, Alwaysuttori.com. 2016.

The official first day of fall is just a few days away. Many are already hard at work hitting the books and missing the lazy days of summer. The same is true for me, too. While I’m not currently a student, I’ve recently spent a lot of time getting educated about intellectual property and brand management. Like many INTJs, I firmly believe that learning is a continuous process. For us, intellectual curiosity is not just a life skill, it is a necessity. The INTJ brain needs information like we need air.

So, in solidarity with all of you who are back in class and/or back at the books, Always Uttori is happy to share our second slay-those-books (STB) look. Obviously, the look leans more collegiate, but it is in line with some of the fall fashion trends coming up as the weather gets cooler.

This STB look is pure college prep, created from pieces collected over different seasons. Our Always Uttori Style Rationale goes like this: the white shirt, layered beneath a black sweater and car coat, gives the look classic appeal. The shirt is untucked because I have a pet peeve of seeing people in tight leggings with their bum, panty line and all, outlined in graphic detail . . . not cool, but I see it a lot in MN. The scarf shown on the featured image is one I found at Amazon. For those with Scottish heritage, like me, it’s fun to rep the roots.  Not sure which family this tartan belongs to, but it’s not my family, still I love how the red side contrasts with the monochromatic black and white.

What’s INTJ About This Look?
  • Classic. Classic. Classic. There’s nothing an INTJ loves more than classic. Even if the look itself goes off trend, the individual pieces can be combined with a more trendy piece. Besides, do INTJs really care what’s on trend. No, we don’t.
  • Many of the individual pieces are super cheap – like the scarf.  In fact, the scarf is actually cheaper now than when I first bought it; but I’m not mad. It just means I can now get a scarf in every color. Well, probably not, but don’t be surprised if you see another tartan scarf in the future. Tartan was on trend about a year ago, but no more. Do INTJs care about trends?  See above.

By the way, our college prep look was shot at MacAlester College in Saint Paul, Minnesota.
