Designing For INTJs and Other Introverts

  • It’s not that INTJs don’t like fashion, it’s that for INTJ females, fashion is about two thing: function and self-expression.

When we talk about function, it’s pretty easy to understand. The primary reason that INTJs buy clothing is to serve a function. Window-shopping with a friend may be fun, but for the INTJ cognition, impulse buys aren’t a way of life. If you are interested in designing for INTJs, and other introverts, keep the following in mind.

Comfort is one of our favorite clothing categories.

We all have to go to work. We need what we call the INTJ work uniform.

We get obsessed with certain entertainment vehicles that appeal to our intuition. We’re the ones who buy those weird t-shirts.

Deep down, we hate conformity, and hate dressing in conformist fashion – You will rarely see an INTJ on Instagram with a gucci belt, rolled jeans, and a YSL crossover bag, you might see it, but it won’t be every other picture in the feed.

  • The other type of fashion that INTJs and introverts will purchase is the fashion of self-expression.

INTJs and other introverts have a point of view, but it’s not all that often that we are willing to share it, except on our fashion. That’s why we love the current trend of expression fashion.

Self-expression allows us to be as loud as everyone else, only we do it without saying a word.

Remember, an introvert doesn’t = shy. So we’re not pushovers, or wallflowers. Our fashion shouldn’t be either.
